Day in day out, Fiftytwo Skatepark is the place for skateboarding progression. With the most progressive obstacles and a helpful staff, Montana's skaters are coming up in a positive, fun environment with a diverse group of people making an impact every day. Here we feature some of the great people that make our scene so unique, and give props to the skaters that are on the come up at Fiftytwo!
Rayla Marema is my favorite person to skate with right now. Every time I get to roll around with her, she learns something new and it reminds me of when I was a kid, going to my local skatepark and drilling tricks with all my heart, a lone girl among the boys zipping past. Back in the day, I'd throw my headphones on and block everyone else out and just skate. Now that I'm a mom, a business owner, a full time student and pretty much up to my eyeballs in busy, when I get the chance to skate hard, I take it. And the kid that is usually pushing me to have the most fun is Rayla.
Watching Rayla skate today, you'd hardly believe she's only been skating for six months. Rayla started when we opened the park, her dad bought her a brand new REAL, and off she went. Padded up and full of energy, she's not afraid to give it her all. When the Bacon team came through town, Rayla dropped into the Bison Bowl with them in the middle of a heavy session, and showed them some mean frontside carves in the deep end. She's my little project, I love helping her get the next trick, and she's always ready for more. Look out for Rayla Marema, she's on the come up for sure! -Jayme Erickson
